paris in may : part ii

I'm slowly coming with more pictures of my trip in Paris. Slowly because I only have my mini laptop here so it takes me more time to edit pictures and be satisfied with the result.

On the second day of our trip in Paris we walked along la Seine, bought a few books and posters at les Bouquinistes and visited le musée de l'Orangerie, in which there was a temporary exhibition of Claude Monet's Nymphéas. We were not allowed to take pictures in this part of the museum but it was a real pleasure for the eyes to see some Monet's masterpieces.

I should apply to work here in a year or two! (how nice is it to have an office in front of La Seine?)

Did I mention I really enjoyed this museum? Here are a few of my favorites paintings because, you know, I photographed almost every paintings in the museum...

Argenteuil (Claude Monet)

La Jeune Anglaise (Chaïm Soutine)

Nature morte, poire et pommes vertes (Paul Cézanne)

La Carriole du Père Junier and details of La Noce (Rousseau) : the last is one of my all-time favorites.

The next step in my photo-editing schedule will be my two hundred pictures of Le Louvre. That said, the part III in pictures will be mainly paintings ;)

Love, ♥

oh! rainy day

Today was a cocooning day. I mean I had a day off without any special plans or expectations (the boyfriend was working!), so I stayed home with the cats and the dog all day long. But, I have to say I'm pretty happy with my day so far, because I was in a super-crafty mood and on a high level of creative-productivity. Maybe the weather helps... anyways here is my day in pictures (not super interesting but kind of funny for me to document :)

9 am >> Enjoying homemade blueberry waffles and a cup of coffee. I just throw a bunch of blueberries in this recipe and I have a yummy breakfast every morning.

10 am >> Writing letters, sending zines and enjoying my second cup of coffee.

11 am >> After all the dishes and laundry stuff done, working on my papier maché project ;)

12 pm >> A healthy lunch : honey and dijon chicken breast, zucchini and eggplant fries with rice.

1 pm >> These little guys were standing behind me and they played with random newspaper strips on the floor.

2 pm >> A bit of photo editing on a tiny laptop... oh my, I miss my large pc screen!

3 pm >> Last coat of varnish on this new girl then waiting for her to dry.

The afternoon ended with vege lasagna rolls and more photo editing.

My plan for the evening? Wearing my pyjama and laying on the sofa with my book and a cup of mint tea :)

paris in may : part i

I did not mention earlier that I took my vacations at the beginning of the summer this year. My destination was Paris. Honestly I was pretty excited when I left home on May 3rd, to the Montreal Airport. I traveled with my little sister, my mom and a friend of hers and we spent a very interesting week. We visited almost all main attractions in Paris so we were kind of tired when we came back home. Here is a few photos of the week in parts, because I took more than 1500 pictures and I did not complete my "best pictures" selection yet.

a bit of shopping in rue des Abesses, Montmartre

This cutest little pug was desesperatly waiting for his mother to go outside, but she was still shopping in a boutique.

Le Refuge des Fondus : a tiny restaurant of about 20 chairs, but where you can eat the real "fondue", à toutes les sauces.

Lovely soap dispensers.

At Jardin des Tuileries, next to le Louvre

How was your beginning of summer? Do you have any plans for June? I am actively searching for another summer job, to complete the one at the jewelry store. I saw a company looking for a photographer (amateur) for the week-ends and I would LOVE to to that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this job!

All the best
Andréanne ♥
